Peoria Barge Terminal has been in business on the Illinois River since 1957. In 1968, we moved to our present docks located at Mile 160.4 on the Illinois River.
Peoria Barge Terminal administrative offices are shared with our affiliate organizations, N. E. Finch Co. and Peoria Metro Construction, Inc., at 1925 Darst Street in Peoria, Illinois. The three businesses are collectively known as "The Finch Companies" and are headed by Thomas E. Finch, President. Peoria Metro Construction is a general contractor involved with commercial, industrial and institutional construction in central Illinois. PMC has been the recipient of many awards for various projects. The scope of operations at N. E. Finch Co. includes equipment rental, aggregate sales and trucking. NEFCO is also a general contractor in heavy/highway construction specializing in site preparation, pile driving, and demolition.
Over the years Peoria Barge Terminal customers have benefited from our affiliation with N. E. Finch Co. and their experience in all phases of the trucking business (including just-in-time delivery) since 1940. With a fleet of trailers that include dumps, flatbeds, vans, and lowboys, NEFCO trucks are readily accessible to accommodate our customers' trucking needs.
